The book is an artistic symbolism of the Russian Revolution and the rise of soviet communism. I liked how he showed such complicated event in history through an animal fable. It opens up issues like elitism, equality, hypocrisy and abuse.

PS. I would also like to mention how the pigs on two legs scared me. very, very scary.
